What if? Blending photography & graphic art to create new worlds
I like to ask myself, what if? And then take it one step further by blending my photography and graphic art to create new worlds. I can get lost for hours in “answering” this question which has led me to my What If series. Driving on long road trips, flying on long airline trips, at night when I can’t sleep, even sitting at lunch (a therapeutic way to escape some of the stresses of surgical nursing) my mind takes me to ethereal worlds and what could be – we can’t be alone in all the universes out there, right? Gaining inspiration from books (Tolkien!) and film (my latest obsession being Avatar, The Way of Water), along with my love of the lush jungle, flowers, and animals, I have LOTS of image boards created. I just need to get them made.
I took an online course at https://www.domestika.org/en/ricardoluevanos and learned a LOT of techniques to bring my worlds to life. Domestika has so many classes with such talented artists. If you are at all in need of inspiration, head on over to https://www.domestika.org/en
This piece came about as a challenge after I posted on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CdRIQ6XPJif/ an image of a flamingo with leopard skin. One follower replied with “I’m just thinking of the other side of the coin… a pink feathered leopard” Challenge met! I’ll post my flamingo here soon.
Hope you enjoy this one!
